Desertstar Project for the Mentally Disabled, Inc.
This is a 501(c)(3) public benefit nonprofit corporation. The main goal is to provide housing units for 140 mentally ill adults. Future plans are to build studios and one and two bedroom units on 20 acres of land. Also to provide services such as work rehabilitation, educational classes, vocational services, independent living skills programs, social and recreational activities. Jewish Family Service of Palm Springs and Desert Area
Jewish Family Service is a social service agency committed to meeting the social service needs of the Jewish residents of the Coachella Valley. To help them function at their optimal level. The services of the agency are open to all people regardless of their religious beliefs. Services include counseling, information and referral, volunteer opportunities, community education, Jewish free loan, Tell-A-Friend telephone support to the homebound and geriatric case management program with in-home visits.

Vitalco Living Partnership
The Partnership, in collaboration with the community, produces educational videos that present topics of particular interest to older adults, persons with disabilities, their families and friends, caregivers and service providers. Each video is distributed free of charge to public libraries, senior and community centers, support groups, service agencies, religious and other organizations throughout Riverside County.
Video titles include: "Practical Tips for Good Mental Health," and "Alone, But Not Lonely,"
