Inland Caregiver Resource Center
California's Caregiver Resource Centers
Caring for a loved one with a brain disorder forever
changes the lives of families and caregivers. There can
be devastating effects on those providing long-term
care: financial pressures, legal quandaries, health
problems, emotional turmoil. Fortunately, in California,
there is help. Eleven nonprofit Caregiver Resource
Centers (CRCs) throughout the state each year serve more
than 10,000 families and caregivers of persons with
adult-onset brain disorders including Alzheimer's,
multi-infarct disease or other dementias;
cerebrovascular diseases such as stroke or aneurysm;
degenerative diseases which cause both physical and
cognitive impairment such as Parkinson's.

National Multiple
Sclerosis Society
What is MS? Multiple Sclerosis (MS) is a
chronic, often disabling disease of the central nervous
system. Symptoms may be mild such as numbness in the
limbs or severe--paralysis or loss of vision. Most
people with MS are diagnosed between the ages of 20 and
40, but the unpredictable physical and emotional effects
can be life long. The progress, severity and specific
symptoms of MS in any one person cannot yet be
predicted, but advances in research and treatment are
giving hope to those affected by the disease.

stiff; temporary paralysis or reduced spontaneous
movement; and postural abnormalities, such as stooped
