Desertstar Project for the Mentally Disabled, Inc.
This is a 501(c) (3) public benefit nonprofit corporation. Their main goal is to purchase land and build housing units for 140 mentally ill adults. Future plans are to build studios and one and two bedroom units on 20 acres of land. To provide services such as work rehabilitation, educational classes, vocational services, independent living skills programs, social and recreational activities. Their rent fees are affordable for those receiving disability benefits from the government. Free video and discussion programs are open to the public on the second Tuesday of each month at noon.
